We Can Help You Find Your Ideal Chapel Hill Rental!

RENTING

Although moving into a new home can be exciting, the actual search process can be tedious and frustrating. You may sift through hundreds of ads and tour ten different properties, yet still not find exactly what you are looking for. It takes a lot of time, and it can wear you out!

At DLP, we try to make this process a lot easier. With streamlined search tools, interactive maps and detailed listings and photos for all of our properties, we are sure you will find it easy to locate the perfect rental home.

Students or others that are interested in renting close to the UNC Campus should browse our " Walk to Campus Listings ," available on the menu to the left of this page, or view our printable list as well.

Beyond just helping you find the right rental, we are also committed to providing you with the best rental experience possible. We take great care of our properties, making sure they are clean and well-maintained. We do our best to be available to answer your questions, and we always handle maintenance and emergency issues promptly. Our tenants also have 24-7 access to their own private tenant portals, where they can pay rent, submit and track maintenance requests, obtain renters insurance and more.

SUBLEASING

If you are interested in subleasing your property or room, you are responsible for finding a sublessee that is compatible with any existing roommates that may be on the primary lease with you. Since you and/or your roommates are still the primary leaseholder(s), you are still responsible for ensuring the rent is paid on time each month, as well as for any damage the sublessee may cause. Therefore, you may want to collect a security deposit from the sublessee to protect your financial interests.  Please note that sublessees do not have tenant portal access unless  you provide it to them, therefore you will want to ensure all payment arrangements are agreed upon ahead of time.  If you are a student, we recommend reaching out to Student Legal Services for advice and further assistance on subleasing.

Please follow these steps to get this process started:

  1. Find a suitable sublessee.
  2. Email us your sublease request along with the property you live in, the sublessee's full name, phone # and email address.
  3. We will email the sublessee a rental application link so that they can apply and get started.
  4. Once approved, you and any current housemates will sign a sublease agreement between the existing leaseholders and the sublessee. All roommates must sign to indicate that everyone approves.
  5. Email us the signed agreement and we will approve and sign off on the document.
